Chapoutier's Hermitage Le Méal is produced exclusively on the eponymous hillside, consisting of high terraces of rounded pebbles and clay. It is an Hermitage made from old Syrah vines, aged around 60 years. These are cultivated according to biodynamic principles and harvested by hand.
Reviews of this exceptional vintage, the archetype of a great Ermitage:Jeb Dunnuck: 99/100R. Parker - Wine Advocate: 99/100
This wine possesses complex aromas of brioche with butter, of bitter almonds, hazelnuts without forgetting a first nose with a very marked mineral touch reward of a deep implanting. It is the wine which associates marvelously power, delicacy and aromatic complexity.
